I'm back! Sorry for going MIA for a bit, but the last few days have been pretty busy (or I haven't had Internet). First of all, I can't believe it's already September! Is it just me or did August fly by? Second of all, our EuroTrip was awesome!! It's crazy to think that we were in NINE different countries over the last month. I'm so incredibly grateful!! It's definitely something that I will always remember doing with my momma.
Over the past week I have set up a UK bank account, got a UK phone number (hopefully for the last time), met up and got drinks with some classmates, went to Notting Hill Carnival (Europe's largest street festival), found and spent way too much time at the mall, and most importantly, moved into my flat!
I absolutely love everything about my flat. It's a one bedroom, with a full bath (yes, that means a tub too), kitchen / living room area. It's very cute and perfect for one person. There are only 5 flats in the building. I have already met one flatmate...... but I've already forgotten his name *oops*.
When it came time to decorate, my mom and I learned how difficult it is to buy in bulk without a car. We would have to hop on the tube, go to a store, buy whatever we could carry, unload, and repeat. After one day of that, I decided to turn to online shopping. Thataway I only had to haul things up three flight of stairs... not three different trains.
Oh, washing clothes has been interesting, too. The flat came with a washer dryer. As in one little machine (that holds about 10 pieces of clothing) that will wash and *supposedly* dry them in the same machine. We haven't had much luck with the drying part of it. The first day we had clothes everywhere in the flat, trying to dry. After that, we would just take them downstairs and put them on the clothes line.
I'm calling it a night on the blog tonight, because tomorrow we wake up early... mom is headed back to Texas........................ :-/
P.s. For those of you who still know where to buy stamps, I love snail mail!!! If you send me something, I promise to send a letter back :-) If you don't have my address, email me at my 6th grade email address (I'm not kidding), it's ashbobash4@yahoo.com.
