The birthday girl was up bright and early this morning! She
planned our next few days, while I got to sleep in. Once we got going, we
headed down to Notre Dame, where we went straight to brunch. We sat outside and
enjoyed the beautiful weather… that was until it started to rain on us.
Following brunch, we walked down the street towards The Louvre. Once we got in,
we went straight to the Mona Lisa so we could get that out of the way. The
crowd was huuuuge! I was determined to get to the front, but mom wasn’t about
that crowd life, so she waited on the side. After ten minutes, I was finally
able to push my way up to the front and snap a couple photographs. After that I
was sweaty and irritated, so I was a joy to be around :-) But we walked around
for a little while longer looking at the other artwork. Mom was so mesmerized by
each piece -- she was really enjoying all of it! Meanwhile, I’m snapping photos
of the funny looking pieces and coming up with my own commentary. Once she was done looking around, we left and
went back to Notre Dame. We planned on going inside, but once again, the line
was ridiculously long. If we didn’t have dinner plans, we would’ve waited, but
we couldn’t be late for dinner. So we headed back to the hotel and cleaned up.
Then grabbed a taxi and went down to the river and hopped on a boat. We had a
five course meal on the river, while driving by some of Paris’ most famous
landmarks. It took a total of two and a half hours, but it was completely worth
it. Plus we got to see a guy propose!! *LUAH* After dinner, we walked over to
the Eiffel Tower to snap some night shots. Goodness, it really is so beautiful!!
It started to rain again, but it didn’t really matter -- there was just something
about standing in the rain, under the Eiffel Tower! I will definitely miss this city, but
tomorrow we’re off to Zurich, Switzerland!
