August 8: The Underground

Since we had to be across town to meet a landlord, we kicked off the day with breakfast on-the-go. He showed us our first house, so we really had no idea what to expect going into it. Once we walked inside, my first thought was: it's tiny! There was your shower room (bathroom without a bath -- which is a deal breaker for this gal), your kitchen, and bedroom all in a 300 something sqft. flat. However, after thinking about it, I realized I really don't need anything more than that anyways. It's not like I could afford anything bigger either! After we saw the flat we walked towards the market thinking that we could make that place work. The current tenant came running after us and told us to not sign there. She went on to tell us why we shouldn't lease that flat. While we appreciated her warning, we were slightly disappointed that we had to start at square one again. Once we got to the market we went into this bag store, and I found the most perfect bag. The gentleman who ran the store is also the one who makes all the bags. He said he does all the designs and cutting, while his wife does the sewing. They're called Bagman and Robin. So cute! He also pointed us in the direction where we could find quite a few realtors, restaurants, shops, pubs, and anything else you're looking for. We walked into the first realtor office we saw, and set up quite a few viewings for Monday. Fingers crossed that they're as amazing as the photos, because I already fell in love with one location. After leaving there, we headed up the street in search of a restaurant. We decided on a place called Radicals and Victuallers. It turned out to be so, so good! We walked off lunch by continuing up the street, where we ended up in a shoe store. We ended up spending over thirty minutes in the store, but both of us walked out with some new shoes. We then decided to give the tube a try. It was very intimidating, especially since our stop required four different lines. But, we managed to get back almost flawlessly. It was our very last switch where I messed up. I put us on the right line, but in the wrong direction, so we had to do a few more switches, but hey, we made it back! After freshening up in the hotel, we went down to the bar where we received our complimentary drinks. Then we tried out the tube, once more, and headed towards Piccadilly Circus for dinner. This time it did go perfectly! *woohoo* My goodness, when we walked out of the tube, I was not expecting to see the area so busy! It was insane. People were everywhere. Every restaurant had lines out the door, so we ended up at Bubba Gump. Dinner was decent, but after dinner was much better. We walked across the street to The Comedy Stage and watched a two hour stand-up comedy set. There was a total of five acts - all of them were hilarious! Once we got out it was nearly 1:30 am, so trying to catch a cab was brutal!! But we made it back safe and sound -- then immediately went to bed.
