Miles and Smiles Away: August 21: Off to Germany!

Our train didn't leave until after lunch today, so we decided to make the hike up to Prague Castle again. So. Many. Stairs. But again, the view is worth it. This time the castle was open, so we made our way inside. We were told it would only take an hour, but I don't see how that's possible. If I had to guess, I'd say it'd take at least three hours to get through the entire thing. Since we were pressed on time, we walked pretty quickly. I know I say this a lot, but the buildings are just so amazing. The details that go into each door, or window, or pillar. It's remarkable!

After finishing up at the castle, we walked back down to our hotel and packed up our things. The train ride wasn't bad at all... well for some of us. Mom finished her book last night and didn't pack a new one for this train ride, so she was bored out of her mind. I had Sons of Anarchy and Candy Crush keeping me entertained, so I was golden.

Five hours later, we arrived in Berlin! I look up from my laptop and see "Berlin sdhsfsndfdf" written on the wall, so I start to panic because we weren't packed up. I hurry and cram all of my things into my backpack and tell mom that this is our stop! She jumps up and we go to grab our luggage from the overhead. Well, both of our bags are over 50 pounds each, so being in a rush and not getting a good grip on it... I dropped the bag and caused a huge scene. It was loud and pretty embarrassing. We picked up the bag and headed towards the door, only to realize that this was NOT our stop. It was the next one. So then we got to sit there looking like idiots until the next stop. *shrugs*

We taxied on over to our hotel and checked in. After putting our bags away, we walked down the street in search of a German restaurant that the front desk recommended. It wasn't very far from the hotel, so we found it pretty easily. We sat down outside and enjoyed the cool air. This place was so, so good! We both really enjoyed our meals.

Tomorrow we hit the town!
