August 10: Manic Monday

We had a very busy, but good Monday! It started off bright and early with breakfast in the room. Then after that we hopped on the tube and went down to Angel, where the flat leasing office is. Our leasing agent, Anthony, showed us four flats. I fell in love with the first one, so the last three were a blur. After talking it over with my mom (and texting dad), we decided to go with the first one. It's located in a family neighborhood, it's on the third floor of the building, and has a beautiful green space in the backyard -- it's so lovely! The flat itself is the perfect size. I'm so excited!! After filling out the application, we headed up the street in search of a hair salon. We found a place called 171 Hair and Beauty, I went in and got a couple inches chopped off. I really, really liked the place and will definitely be back. Sometime during the hair cut, Anthony called me and said the landlord wants to meet with us and that we need to be back at the leasing office at 6pm. We had about an hour and half before then, so we grabbed a bite to eat before heading over there. We ended up at a pizza place called Vivo. Like everything else, it was absolutely delicious! Once we finished dinner, we went over to the leasing office and met the landlord, who was very sweet. After chatting for a bit, we were told we got the place! We filled out the lease and signed everything right then and there. After getting everything sorted out, we had to hurry back down to the tube and get across town so we could make it to our 8pm play. Mom has been dying to see a play, so she picked up some tickets this morning. We walk up to The Ambassadors for a play called Stomp. The play itself wasn't bad at all, but the seats were so close together, that my knees would not fit and I was so just so uncomfortable. What seemed like five hours later, the show finally ended and we headed outside and walked up and down the street. We ended up finding an underground casino... so random! We walked inside and found a roulette table, so we had to play. After starting off with £50 and only staying for 30 minutes, we walked away with £500!! We decided to not jinx ourselves, cash out, and get the heck out of there. We got back on the tube and headed back to Kensington where our hotel beds were waiting for us.

  1. Your crammed seats talk makes me think about the AT&T center. Maybe once the renovations are done the seats will be better!

Can't wait to see your new flat! :)

Also, you got a new GoPro?!
